Book Cover Bears are a totally unique family of handmade bears born from the friendship and creative fusion of two Scottish based artist friends, Andrea Scott and Liz Gaffney.
The story behind their creation is far from ordinary and their appeal far ranging. They are not only sought after by arctophiles but by felt-makers, railway enthusiasts, and supporters of the Addison Publication *'The Highgrove Florilegium'.
Each delightful bear is one of a kind, full of character and personality, with a name and short biography. They live in the Bear Room at Dalmally Railway Cottage patiently waiting to be discovered and loved by a family of their own.
When the time comes for a bear to leave for their new home their details are meticulously recorded in a vintage ledger by The Professor, the wise old bear who oversees all things bear at the Railway Station. This ensures their ancestry can be traced by their new family should they wish to visit .
The bears are then carefully packaged into their very own individually handmade bear bag, close in design to the original 'Royal Book covers', together with their favourite possession or outfit and some rather special paperwork.
We hope our bears make you smile and that maybe one will steal your heart.
