A happy and gentle bear, Lewis has loved sailing the open seas since he was a cub.
During the summer he befriended some fisherman who, impressed with his enthusiasm and love for the ocean, kindly taught him all about sea fishing skills.
Lewis particularly enjoyed sitting with the fishermen while learning how to check and mend nets as he loved to listen to the tales of their many adventures on the high seas that they shared, amid much laughter, as they worked.
He was such an attentive pupil that his new friends presented him with his very own *shuttle with which he was delighted. He practices his newly learnt skill whenever he can.
Lewis is wearing a snugly, hand knitted jumper made to a traditional Guernsey pattern and, of course, has his *Shuttle with him.
*Shuttle : The technical name for a net needle. Originally thought to have been made of bone, in more recent times they were made from hardwood, usually Birch or Oak.
