Beatrice Bear learns to spin wool
Beatrice Bear who lives with Liz at Dalmally Railway Station just loves to be involved with everything happening in the Studio .
Its a busy place and Beatrice has lots of tasks looking after the new bears in the Bear Room as well as visitors who want to hold her and speak with her.
This week she watched very carefully as her Auntie Sandy gave a lesson on Spinning wool to a new student.
Beatrice often watched Liz spin when she had a quiet moment and was amazed to hear her softly humming and noticed how calm it made her and how happy she was when she had a little time to spin.
She listened very carefully to Sandy's instruction and an idea formed in her head...she so wanted to spin.
She asked her Mummy Liz if they ever made spinning wheels bear size , she was not sure if bears could spin but she practised drawing out the wool into manageable pieces-
Aunty Sandy said this was called drafting.
The postman arrived with a parcel and Liz called Beatrice over as she unwrapped it and the excitement of a serious little bear was a joy to behold.
It may take time and some help from the other bears but Beatrice is enjoying so much the learning of a new skill with the soft and fluffy wool from Graham and Liz's sheep.
