It is unusually quite in the little Railway Cottage were Bertie Button lives with his mum and dog Ollie.
The delightful sound of mischievous giggles and the not so delightful sound of footballs bouncing off walls, dishes breaking as plates of cookies are dropped on the floor and Whoopie Cushions causing unsuspecting guests to jump, have not been heard for quite sometime and Bertie's mum is worried.
Now, we all know that it is normal to worry
when Bertie is quiet, because we have learnt the hard way that when Bertie is quiet he is usually planning something naughty ...... but not this time..... Bertie Button has lost his smile and is a very sad little bear.
It seems Bertie is missing someone much more than any of us had realised.
His best friend, Beatrice Bear, has been on the road with her mum, Liz, travelling far and wide in their mobile workshop, sharing their wonderful textile skills far and wide,
for, what seems to a lonely little bear, a
very long time.
Of course all of the Book Cover Bears have been missing Liz and Beatrice but living in the Bear Room they have had each other for company and, as we all know, friends make difficult days easier.
to put our thinking caps on
if we can make
Bertie smile again
